CAPACCIO: NFC Better or Worse

Over the past two weeks on Sports Talk Saturday (11am-2pm Saturdays on WGR) I went through every team in the NFL and said if their record will be “Better or Worse” this season than last.  In case you missed it – which you shouldn’t because you should always be listening to the show! – here they are again for you.  But, this time, I added one sentence for each team to either explain or just for the heck of it.

The rule: I was not allowed to say “same” for any team.  Only “better” or “worse," and strictly according to last season's W/L record.

Here are my NFC picks. You can read my AFC picks here.

NFC East

Giants (9-7 last season) – Better
Hard to believe they only won nine games last year.

Eagles (8-8) – Better
Finished 4-0 last year and really started to gel the talent together.

Cowboys (8-8) – Worse
Not sure why so many have high expectations for them…..again?!

Redskins (5-11) – Better
Please, Mike Shanahan, do not ruin RG3’s career

NFC North

Packers (15-1) – Worse
Worse than 15-1 can still be pretty darn good.

Lions (10-6) – Worse
Still not sure about their running game or their discipline.

Bears (8-8) – Better
Cutler + Forte + Marshall means big things for this offense.

Vikings (3-13) – Worse
I don’t care what I saw in the preseason against the Bills, the Vikings will be on the clock early in April.

NFC South

Saints (13-3) – Worse
Loss of head coach and suspensions just too much to overcome.

Falcons (10-6) – Better
Better in the regular season, but can Matt Ryan be better in the postseason?

Panthers (6-10) – Better
Cam Newton.

Buccaneers (4-12) – Better
Some big upgrades in talent on the overall roster.

NFC West

49ers (13-3) – Worse
They can’t be any better than they were last regular season.

Cardinals (8-8) – Worse
Now accepting applications to play quarterback.

Seahawks (7-9) – Worse
Just can’t see Russell Wilson playing like this for an entire regular season.

Rams (2-14) – Better
A healthy Bradford and Jeff Fisher should get them to at least three wins.
