CAPACCIO: NFL Season Predictions!

Here are my picks for the 2012 NFL season.  Division winners, wild card teams, and award winners………

AFC
East – Patriots
North – Ravens
South – Texans
West – Broncos
Wild Cards – Chargers and Bills
Tough for me to only go with one team from the AFC North.  But the Steelers are aging and the Bills schedule is very favorable compared to Cincy's.  I'm banking on Philip Rivers having a bounce-back year to get the Chargers in.

NFC
East – Giants
North – Packers
South – Falcons
West – 49ers
Wild Cards – Bears and Eagles
The last spot came down to Eagles, Lions, and Saints.  The Lions have to play the Bears and Packers twice each.  I'm also not convinced their running game will be good enough.  Bounty-Gate will take its toll on the Saints.  The Eagles finished last season 4-0 and finally started figuring out how to play together.

AFC Championship – Broncos over Texans
Both teams have well-balanced offenses and both can get after the passer on defense. They can win multiple ways.  Of course, if Peyton Manning goes down for an extended period of time everything changes.  I'm obviously picking him to stay upright.

NFC Championship – Giants over Bears
The Giants defensive line can keep any passing game in check, especially late in the season.  I picked the Pack to win the North, but the Bears can beat them on a cold day in January.

Super Bowl XLVII – Giants over Broncos
The NFL finally gets its Manning vs. Manning Super Bowl matchup.  It only took Peyton going to Denver.  But Eli gets ring number three as the Giants repeat.
