REPORT: Players Win "Bounty Gate" Appeal

Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated reports that current and former Saints players who were suspended in the wake of the "Bounty Gate" scandal have won their appeals.  A panel has overturned the suspensions of current Saints Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith, along with former Saints Anthony Hargrove (now a free agent) and Scott Fujita (currently playing in Cleveland).

Trotter cites an unnamed source who says NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell can reconsider punishment for the players only if there is evidence of intent to injure that goes beyond a performance pool.  All players are elligible to play this weekend.  The overturning of suspensions does not apply to coaches Sean Payton, Joe Vitt or Gregg Williams.
