Buffalo Business report - Tuesday, September 25th 2012



Toys R Us plans to hire 45,000 seasonal workers to help in its stores and fulfill expanded shipping options for the holidays.  That's a 13% jump from the number of seasonal hires made last year. There are four Toys R Us  locations in Western New York and one Babies R Us store.

According to Business First, a Denny's Restaurant is filling space once occupied by Swiss Chalet on Transit Road in Lancaster.  The deal was brokered through McGuire Development.

Seven Western New York non-profit groups have been awarded $1.1 million.  The money is from the Attorney General's Homeownership Protection Program and is intended to help struggling homeowners remain in their homes.

South Dayton is the site for the newest branch of Cattaraugus County Bank.  The Pine Street bank has a hitching post for use by its Amish customers.
Bryant & Stratton College has once again been recognized by Victory Media and G.I. Jobs Magazine on a list of Military Friendly Schools.
