According to a Washngton Post report, the NFL is close to an agreement with their locked out officials. Mark Maske says that there was enough progress made in negotiations between the two sides Tuesday night that a deal could be in place as early as next week, barring any major setbacks. ESPN's Chris Mortensen says that a return to work by the weekend is a possibility.
The league used replacement refs for the first three games of the season. An outcry for the regular officials escalated after a controversial finish to the Monday night game between the Seahawks and Packers. Seattle WR Golden Tate wrestled away an aparent interception from Packers CB M.D. Jennings. The NFL did issue a statement, backing up the decision of the replacement refs.
