Aren't you sick of it?  I mean just sick of it.  Had it up to here, or there, or anywhere you like.  We've been here so often that we should have the market cornered on the highest levels of frustration imaginable.

Maybe we do.  Fans are plenty mad after yet another trip to the woodshed at the hands of the mighty New England Patriots.  Some of them are even mad at the players as opposed to blaming the coaches for the defensive line being unable to tackle running backs, one of whom you had never heard of before.

The Patriots don't just show up and beat your head in.  They keep it fresh by introducing some guy they picked up off the street to lead the head kicking.  A couple of years back it was Benjarvus Green-Ellis.  Sunday it was Brandon Bolden, an undrafted rookie free agent who came into today with a whopping 15 yards on 7 carries in his NFL career.  All Bolden did to beat the Bills was rush for 137 yards on 16 carries for a nifty 8.6 yards per carry average.  Bolden was helped by backfield mate Stevan Ridley, who also went over 100 yards on the day.

At this point I'm left wondering if Bill Belichick might be tempted to sign some contest winner to see if he, or she, could score in a game against the Bills.  I mean, what the hell, right?  Have a game show and bring the winner to play the Bills.  No offense to Kyle Eckel, but why not?

Oh, and Tom Brady threw for  like a million yards and Welker did what Welker does and Gronkowski did some, well, Gronking.

All of it adds up to 580 yards of offense and 52 points, including 35 straight that turned a 21-7 Buffalo lead into a 42-21 deficit.

I mean, seriously?  It really shouldn't feel like UB going to play Georgia when the Bills play the Patriots, but it does. 

That's the worst part about this loss.  We were hoping that maybe the Bills had closed the talent gap.  We kept trying to believe that beating the Patriots last season wasn't fluky, that the Bills could stand in and throw with them. 

What a joke that was.  I was talking with a long time observer in the press box before Sunday's game started and at one point while assessing the home side's chances I said it sure would be nice to get to the point where beating the Patriots didn't feel like cause for a civic holiday.

The Patriots will continue to live in all of our heads until a few weeks from now when maybe we'll talk ourselves into the idea that the Bills can go to Foxboro because, you know, any given Sunday and dogs having days and blah blah blah blah. 

Spare me.  We better get back to hoping the Bills can beat the teams we think they're better than.  Because Mario Williams and the rest of the Bills aren't ready to get in the ring with New England.

For the Patriots, playing the Bills seems about as easy as shooting deer in your backyard.
