Free safety Jairus Byrd and right guard Chad Rinehart have both been labeled as questionable for the Bills' upcoming contest.
Byrd came in to the week with a hip pointer that kept him off the practice field to open up the work week for the Bills. He got back on to the practice field in a limited capacity on Thursday, and was also able to practice on Friday as well. After practice, Gailey said Byrd "looked okay."
If he can't play, second-year player Da'Norris Searcy will take his spot in the lineup.
Rinehart's injury was a bit of a surprise on Friday. The right guard slated to start for the injured Kraig Urbik, practiced on both Wednesday and Thursday. During the second of those two days, however, Rinehart injured his calf and was limited the rest of the way. On Friday, Rinehart didn't practice at all.
Gailey said afterwards that Rinehart's day off was merely a precautionary step taken, and expects him to be fine for Sunday's game in San Francisco. In his place, reserve lineman Colin Brown took snaps with the first team offense at right guard.
Three players have already been ruled out by the Bills for the contest. Left tackle Cordy Glenn, right guard Kraig Urbik and defensive tackle Spencer Johnson won't play. Wide receiver Donald Jones and tight end Scott Chandler are both probable after going through the entire week of practice in full. Wideout Ruvell Martin is questionable after missing two games with an ankle injury.
The Bills leave for San Francisco on Saturday afternoon, and will be on the field at Candlestick Park for a 4:25 kickoff against the 49ers.
