Kyle Williams misses Bills practice again

Tempe, AZ (WGR 550)  -- It may be time to be a little concerned about the injury status of Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams.

After missing practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury, it was first thought that he sat out just to have a day off. As it turns out, it might be a tad more serious than initially indicated. For the second straight day, Williams sat out of practice at the Verde Dickey Dome on the campus of Arizona State University.

After the session, head coach Chan Gailey said they were just giving him another day off and still believe he should be able to play in the team's upcoming game. Williams said after practice that it's the foot/ankle that he did not have surgery on last year. He added his surgically repaired foot "feels great."

If Williams can't play, that means the Bills will likely be down to only five defensive linemen, and even worse, only two healthy defensive tackles (Marcell Dareus and Alex Carrington).

That was not the case, however, for right guard Chad Rinehart. The offensive lineman sat out of practice on Wednesday, but returned to the field on Thursday in hopes that he can play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. If he can't start, Sam Young will be the right guard against the Cardinals.

For the second straight day, both safety Jairus Byrd and center Eric Wood were limited at practice. Both have said they expect to play on Sunday.

Joining Williams as non-participants were Spencer Johnson, Cordy Glenn, Kraig Urbik and Mark Anderson. It's unlikely any of those four will be ready for the team's next contest.

Keep checking back for updates from Bills practice all week long.
