Bills Edge Cardinals 19-16 in OT

A wild game in Arizona ended with Rian Lindell's 25-yard field goal in overtime to give the Bills a 19-16 victory over the Cardinals.

The Bills stumbled almost immediately out of the gate thanks to a Fred Jackson fumble on the game's first play from scrimmage. Seconds later, Jay Feely hit a 49-yard field goal to give the Cardinals the early 3-0 lead. Buffalo got on the board later in the opening quarter when Chris Kelsay brought Kevin Kolb down in the end zone for a safety. About five minutes later, the Bills capped off a 10 play, 49-yard drive with a C.J. Spiller touchdown run to take a 9-3 lead.

The Cardinals regained the lead in the second quarter on a Larry Fitzgerald touchdown. Kolb hit Fitzgerald from nine yards out to make the score 10-9. Arizona's 67-yard drive was boosted thanks to a questionable spot on 3rd & short. Buffalo head coach Chan Gailey challenged the spot, but the ruling on the field was upheld and the drive continued.

Feely hit his second 49-yard field goal of the day with 3:17 remaining in the third quarter to put the Cardinals up 13-9. Buffalo responded right away with a five-play, 80-yard drive that resulted in a one-yard touchdown run by Fred Jackson. Stevie Johnson got the drive started with a 23-yard reception and Spiller followed that with a 33-yard rush that put Buffalo deep in Cardinals territory. A 16-yard scamper out of the Wildcat formation by Brad Smith led the team to the goalline. A play later, Jackson found the end zone with DT Kyle Williams leading the way as a fullback.

Jairus Byrd came up with a big interception of Kevin Kolb, but the Cardinals answered with a turnover of their own. Patrick Peterson picked off Smith, throwing out of the Wildcat, in the end zone with about three minutes to play. With new life, Arizona marched 42 yards before Feely booted a 61-yard field goal to tie the game 16-16. John Skelton took over at QB for Kolb, who was brought down hard by Alex Carrington and Chris Kelsay. Moments after Feely's 61-yarder, the Arizona kicker sent a 38-yard attempt off the crossbar as time expired in regulation.

In overtime, Byrd picked off his second pass of the day and return it to the Cardinals' 6-yard line. Two plays later, Lindell connected with a 25-yard field goal to give Buffalo the 19-16 victory. The Bills improve to 3-3 and get ready to host the Tennessee Titans next Sunday.
