The NHL and the Players Union continued labor talks in Toronto on Tuesday and reports of an offer from Commissioner Gary Bettman have surfaced. TSN reports that the NHL is offering the players a 50/50 split in revenues beginning in year one of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The report also states Bettman's desire to have a full 82-game schedule beginning on November 2nd with the new proposal. Union Head Donald Fehr would not comment on the proposal because the players had not yet had a chance to go over it. There will be a conference call with the PA to discuss the owner's proposal around 5 p.m. Eastern, according to Sportsnet.ca.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.
