ESPN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the NHL's Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA Special Council Steve Fehr will meet at an undisclosed location on Saturday.
According to the report, the league has expressed its willingness to fund part of what is called the "Make Whole Provision" to honor existing contracts.
"The problem in the original 'Make Whole' provision, at least from an NHLPA perspective, is that it involved players paying back other players via deferred payments. The NHLPA countered in one of its proposals by suggesting the league and owners fully fund the 'Make Whole' part," LeBrun wrote.
