ESPN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the NHL and the NHL Players' Association will resume talks toward a new Collective Bargaining Agreement on Tuesday.
The two sides have not met since Oct. 18, when the owners rejected three counter proposals by the players.
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA general counsel Steve Fehr met at an undisclosed location Saturday in an effort to get back to more formal bargaining between both sides. The meeting lasted till 1am.
In an email sent to TSN Sunday morning Daly wrote "We had a series of meetings yesterday (Saturday) and exchanged views on the most important issues separating us. "We plan to meet again sometime early this week.''
The two had been talking by phone during the week.
To date (the 50th day of the lockout), there have been 327 games cancelled including the winter classic that was scheduled for January 1st at Michigan stadium.
