Lakers Fire Head Coach Mike Brown

The Los Angeles Lakers fired head coach Mike Brown Friday afternoon. The move comes after a 1-4 start, the worst in the Western Conference.

The dissapointing start to the season comes after the Lakers added stars Steve Nash and Dwight Howard via trade in the offseason. The team has the largest payroll in the NBA at just over $100 million.

Brown leaves the team after only one season behind the bench. Under him the Lakers went 41-25 last season and were knocked out in the second round of the playoffs.

Assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will  fill in as head coach Friday night against the Warriors, as the Lakers begin their search for a new coach.
