Buffalo to Host 2014 NCAA Tournament Games

The NCAA has released the sites for preliminary tournament games in 2014. Buffalo was chosen to host 2nd and 3rd round games.
“The bid process was as competitive as ever, with 53 cities expressing the desire to be a part of one of the world’s premier sporting events,” NCAA vice president of men’s basketball Dan Gavitt said on the NCAA website.

This is the fifth time Buffalo has been chosen to host NCAA tournament games. Buffalo has hosted games in the first weekend of the tournament in 2000, 2004, 2007, and most recently in 2010.

The games will be hosted on Thursday, March 20, and Saturday, March 22 in 2014 at the First Niagara Center, according to Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher.
