NHL Lockout Causing Permanent Damage

Still no end in sight and no reason for optimism as the NHL lockout reached day 66 on Tuesday.  The two sides met for less than two hours on Monday and the NHL has asked the NHLPA for a full proposal that it can consider.

Once a new collective bargaining agreement is reached, the NHL estimates it will need seven to ten days to prepare for the start of the season.  If you do the math, you'll see we are probably nearing an announcement that games in December have been cancelled.  The All Star Game in Columbus, scheduled for January 27th, might also fall victim to the lockout shortly.

Pierre LeBrun, who covers the NHL for ESPN.com and TSN was a guest on the WGR morning show on Tuesday and covered a number of topics including whether or not he sees any signs of cracking from either side.  LeBrun also discussed the possibility of the entire season being cancelled and reviewed what the major stumbling blocks are at the present time.
