Second-year cornerback Aaron Williams has missed each of the last three games with a knee injury and got on the field for practice for the first time since it's onset on Wednesday. On Thursday, Williams took an even bigger step.
"Aaron came out and did a lot more today," said head coach Chan Gailey following practice. "Possibility [to play Sunday]. It's an outside possibility, but it's a possibility."
Occuring during the third quarter of the Bills' loss to Houston, Williams was originally given a prognosis of missing four-to-six weeks.
The Bills have another cornerback to put on the injury report. Gailey announced on Thursday that nickel corner Justin Rogers had tweaked his foot at practice on Wednesday, and had to be limited during the second session of the week.
His status for Sunday is unknown at this point in time.
Defensive tackle Spencer Johnson, who was limited at practice on Wednesday, did not practice Thursday due to an illness -- not because of his listed ankle injury. Johnson, in addition to Mark Anderson and Chris Kelsay, were the lone non-participants at One Bills Drive.
Kyle Williams, Corey McIntyre, Brad Smith, Nick Barnett, Kraig Urbik and Donald Jones were all listed as limited participants.
The Bills elected to practice outside in the swirling winds of Ralph Wilson Stadium to prepare for their game against Jacksonville.
"We need to do that," Gailey said afterwards. "It's supposed to be windy this weekend, so, it was not for the cold as much as the wind to be honest with you."
The Bills hope to win their second straight contest at home when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at 1 pm.
