Sabres Ryan Miller Responds to Breakdown in Talks

On Wednesday it appeared Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller had played a key role in keeping talks for a new CBA going. Now with the talks having broken off, Miller like the rest of the players is perplexed by the owners behavior.

Miller commented on the turn for the worse in a text to Adam Benigni from WGRZ-TV. "Too bad. The league will make it seem like nothing was accomplished, but we got closer to a deal. If they blow it up, I guess we have to find another way. We worked hard and moved in a fashion that would indicate that they could move and get a deal done. They just want surrender on all issues."

Adrian Dater of the Denver Post and SI.com spoke to one depth player who said "we were ready to play again but Don(Fehr) came in(Wednesday) and told us we could get more and to hold out."

Dater wrote that players will say they are unified but they are feeling powerless as" the Ryan Millers and Brad Richards of the world pretend this is a sacrifice for them."
