Buffalo Business Report - Friday, December 14th 2012



Iskalo Development has requested incentives and abatements from the Amherst Industrial Development Agency for its $9.8 million renovation of the Lord Amherst Hotel.  The renovation would begin this winter if approval is granted.  Amherst's IDA will consider the request at its December 21st meeting.

Business First reports Glasjar Property LLC, the corporate owner of Motel 6, has sold its Maple Road hotel to G6 Hospitality Property based in Dallas, Texas.  The reported purchase price of $2.73 million included a small adjoining parcel.

Marketing research firms Insight Associates, Cornerstone Research and Marketing and Ruth Diamond Market Research have teamed up with Canisius College.  The four have opened a focus group facility at the College's Center for Professional Development at Corporate Parkway in Amherst.

Avantis Pizza has opened a third location at 310 West Avenue in Albion in a former Pizza Hut.  The new restaurant joins locations in Brockport and Medina.
