Starting left guard Andy Levitre and tight end Scott Chandler each were not apart of the session on Wednesday. Both players have been listed on the injury report in recent weeks. In the case of Levitre, he was questionable this past weekend with a knee injury. As for Chandler, a groin injury limited some of his snaps throughout the week.
It is unclear to this point if those are the injuries that kept the duo from participating on Wednesday. Each played in the Bills' most recent loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Joining Levitre and Chandler as non-participants were cornerback Leodis McKelvin, defensive tackle Kyle Williams, linebacker Chris White and wide receiver Marcus Easley. Among that group, Easley has already been ruled out for the upcoming road contest against the Miami Dolphins while McKelvin has been given an "outside chance" to play according to head coach Chan Gailey.
Williams has taken Wednesday's off over the past two months to get himself ready to practice and play for the rest of the week. An ankle injury has bugged him for the majority of the season.
On the flip side, center Eric Wood thinks he's progressing enough to warrant a return to the lineup this Sunday. Wood was back on the practice field for the first time since injuring his knee against Jacksonville over two weeks ago.
"The plan is to play," the center said. "I'm going to test it out today and tomorrow, so I'll know after that. But I want to come back this week and give us a little spark up front and to see if I can't help our offense get back on track."
Wood did admit that he would not play if there were a risk of injuring his knee further. He said he'll have a more accurate outlook after Thursday's practice.
Buffalo is up against 6-8 Miami on Sunday.
