"I'm excited just because that's the reason I came back," the veteran linebacker said Thursday. "Sitting back home watching it is just hard to do. So, whatever role they want me to play, I know I'm gonna be out on the field this week and I'm excited about that. Really showing what I could have been doing all season long."
With two games to play, it's uncertain as to how big a role Morrison will have with the Bills. The season-ending injury to Arthur Moats and a combination of a pair of different ailments that linebacker Chris White is going through (hamstring and hand), Buffalo may be aching for bodies on special teams.
"I don't even know what my role is," Morrison said. "I came back because I had this opportunity. Guys are a little banged up and if need be I'm gonna go out there and play. That's why I want to hopefully have a shot at even playing some defense, too. When I worked out for a couple of teams already, and so, this is just the best opportunity for me right now over the next couple of weeks to get some good tape and some film out there and really show what I could've done."
The linebacker was afforded the opportunity to return to One Bills Drive with the groin injury to cornerback Leodis McKelvin that ended his season. The Bills placed the former first-round pick on Injured Reserve on Thursday.
Morrison and the Bills will travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins on Sunday.
