Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills were without two key pieces to their offense in left guard Andy Levitre and tight end Scott Chandler. Just a day later, both were back on the field as the team continued to prepare for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Levitre (knee) and Chandler (foot) both rested their respective injuries for a day and have a positive outlook for the game in Miami. In fact, head coach Chan Gailey said things were trending positively with Chandler and that he'd gotten on to the practice field even earlier than they had expected.
The team's usual starting center, Eric Wood, participated for the second straight day. Gailey lumped him in along with Chandler as having a positive outlook for Sunday. Wood has missed the past two games due to a knee injury.
The only two players not to participate in the session were linebacker Chris White and wide receiver Marcus Easley. The head coach said they would try to see if White (hamstring) could practice on Friday, but they may have to take it all the way to Sunday to make a final decision on his status for the game. Easley (hamstring) has already been ruled out for the contest against Miami.
As cornerback Leodis McKelvin was placed on Injured Reserve on Thursday, Gailey also revealed that the return specialist may need a procedure on a groin injury that ended his season prematurely. They elected to place him on I-R as a preventative measure.
The Bills hit the practice field once again on Friday, will have a walk-thru on Saturday and then fly out to Miami later that day. The contest against the Dolphins is set for 1 pm.
