Bills players react to lease news

Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550)  -- With the Buffalo Bills out of the playoff race, the buzz around team facilities had little to do with who was and wasn't practicing. As the players left the field following their final session of the week, some were greeted by the news that the franchise likely wouldn't be going anywhere for at least seven years.

Here are some of the reactions from those that have the most direct impact on what happens on Sundays throughout the season:

"I think it's great for these great fans, the loyal fans that they are. It's a win-win it looks like to me, for everybody." - Head coach Chan Gailey

"I think that's great news. That's awesome. I think this franchise and this team is right where it needs to be. Obviously I've been here a long time, I've got some time left, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." - Defensive tackle Kyle Williams

"The Bills are so huge to western New York. I know Roger Goodell has expressed that and many people have expressed that and we definitely feel that way as well. These fans have supported us through thick and a lot of thin times in the last 12 years or whatever. We always appreciate their support. Hopefully we can turn it back around soon, but it's great that we'll be staying here." - Center Eric Wood

"I'm just happy for the people. Players, we're gonna come and go out of this business. For this community, it's awesome for them to keep us here for at least seven years that we know for sure, and hopefully for the remaining ten. I was definitely excited to see that they were able to get it done, because I know that was a big question mark that was over our organization, so for both sides to come to an agreement, I'm glad to see they were able to get it done." - Running back C.J. Spiller

"This is a historic team as far as the NFL goes. One of the longest organizations that has been in the community the longest. I'm happy that they were able to get an agreement in place and that the fans of the Buffalo Bills, and here in western New York and close to Canada can enjoy some Buffalo Bills football for the next seven-to-ten years." - Safety George Wilson

"I think it's real big. You get people you run in to in the city or in the town or whatever, that really want the Bills to be around. They're real fans, and even though if we're winning or losing, they're still behind us. So I think it's real big that the Bills are going to be here for at least seven more years." - Cornerback Terrence McGee

"I think that there was a confidence and a faith in everyone working on it that there was something that was going to get done. That was kind of the feeling that we had and kind of what we had been told. I think it's great for the new agreement to have something set in stone to know that this franchise is going to stay here for years to come. I think it's a great relief for the fans as well." - Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick
