The Bills announced Monday that they've placed Chandler on the season-ending Injured Reserve list after he suffered a knee injury against the Miami Dolphins. He was helped off the field, not putting any pressure on his left leg, and then was carted to the locker room. Head coach Chan Gailey revealed after the game that he had seen Chandler on crutches.
As for that record, Chandler once again finishes the season with six touchdowns. That ties both himself (in 2011) and Pete Metzelaars for the most touchdown receptions by a tight end in a single season in Bills history. Chandler finished the season with 43 catches and 571 yards, developing in to one of Ryan Fitzpatrick's most trusted targets throughout the season. His reception and yardage total were both career bests.
On Monday, head coach Chan Gailey said the knee injury may be a torn ACL, and if it is, it would put Chandler in jeopardy of missing some time at the start of next season.
The Bills have one final game before the 2012 regular season comes to a close. They'll take on the New York Jets Sunday afternoon at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
