Sportsnet.ca in Canada is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs have fired president and GM Brian Burke just days before a new season is set to begin. NHL Schedules have not yet been released as the CBA has yet to be finalized.
Burke has run the Leafs since 2008. Toronto missed the playoffs for the 7th straight season in 2012. Schedules will soon be released on a 48-game season.
