Bills' Spiller, Byrd & Williams named Pro Bowl replacements

It took until the week of the game, but the Buffalo Bills will be represented in Hawaii at the Pro Bowl.

The NFL announced that running back C.J. Spiller, free safety Jairus Byrd and defensive tackle Kyle Williams have been named replacements for the league's annual all-star game. Spiller takes the place of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, Byrd for safety Ed Reed and Williams is heading to Hawaii for Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

Spiller rushed for 1,244 yards on just 207 carries in a breakout season. He also had 43 receptions for 459 yards, along with eight total touchdowns on the year. He tied for the league lead in yards per carry, averaging 6.0 every time he ran the ball. This is Spiller's first Pro Bowl.

Williams gets to the all-star game for the second time in his career. In 2012, the defensive tackle racked up 46 tackles and five sacks. Williams made it to the Pro Bowl in 2010.

“It’s always an honor to represent your team and the city of Buffalo in the Pro Bowl,” said DT Kyle Williams via press release. “To be recognized by the fans, your peers and the coaches you play against means a lot. Our goal next year, as it is every season, is to still be competing at this time. It would be great for us, the fans and the city of Buffalo if we’d be able to watch the Pro Bowl next year as we’re continuing our journey for a Super Bowl.”

The team announcing later on Monday that Bills safety Jairus Byrd has also been added to the Pro Bowl. Having a season with five interceptions, four forced fumbles and being ranked the top free safety in the NFL by ProFootballFocus.com, Byrd was named the replacement for Reed.

The Pro Bowl is set for Sunday, January 27.
