The Buffalo Sabres' defense cost them again on Sunday. The Sabres losing 4-3 to the Florida Panthers, who came in scoring just 2.3 goals per game.
Buffalo opened the game strong, taking a 2-1 lead after one period. Thomas Vanek continued his blazing start with a goal and assist in the first.
The wheels came off for the Sabres toward the end of the second period. They gave up a two-goal lead on goals by Florida's George Parros and Peter Mueller.
In the third period, a penalty led to a Brian Campbell power play goal.
The Sabres drop to 3-5-2 on the season.
