Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) -- After having a day away from on-ice practice Wednesday, the Buffalo Sabres got back to the grind on Thursday with no surprises.
All players on the active roster were participants for a session that included battle drills, neutral zone activities, five-on-five work and some conditioning drills at the end. The lines and defensive pairings even stayed the same from the team's 2-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators.
The Sabres were still without forward Ville Leino due to a hip injury that has kept him out the entire season, and has him firmly on IR.
"I ask every day," head coach Lindy Ruff said on Leino's status. "I thought we were making a little headway, but I think we're still kind of in the same spot. I have no better news to give you."
The Sabres will go through their morning skate on Friday, leading up to their next contest against the Boston Bruins on Friday night. It's the first of three straight home games for Buffalo, who will then take on Pittsburgh on Sunday and Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Is sulzer sitting? CAN ANYONE tell me why sulzer isn't in the lineup? Thats a load of horse hockey

Leino mystery.....
Anyone believing this Leino story ? Not a word about any lingering injury, then before the 1st game he's ailing. This guy doesn't want to be here and the only way for the Sabres to save face and not admit failure, which is most important to Darcy and Lindy, is to come up with this lameness. What's next Lindy ? The dog ate your homework ? Only in Lindys world.

Simple ,, but not to prediction.
i like those lines, but just like your offense Lindy,, if you only have one style of defensive coverage,,,in our case backing off towards the net and staying put until our players absorb a puck or Miller stops 1,,, you've made it easier for your oppenents to exploit the coverage.... if you only have 1 style of offensive attack ,, you make it easier for their defense and golie. Boston smothers the puckcarrier with double teams and they get in that player's passing lanes of escape,,,,and the bad play that results,,you pass it right to him. To dramatize these observations,, you get in the shooting lanes , while they get in your passing lanes,,,keeping it simple ,,,to a point but not to prediction.

Hold steady
Just keep on losing...just keep on losing. That's all I can hope for and I believe change will come. UNFINISHED BUSINESS by Darcy is why they are where they are. WHAT A JOKE!!!

I'll keep saying it
Get rid of Sekera, Ennis, and Stafford.

Ridiculous
Sulzer may be the most consistent D-Man we have, and Shakira gets dressed for every game?? No wonder Erhoff has had a subpar offensive season...he has to cover for Reggie's CONSTANT GLARING turnover's. What coach pairs two offensive minded - Men together and sits his two best stay at home depenadable guys on the bench...then wonders why his team has the highest GA in the League? Lindy Ruff thats who!....one of the Top 5 Coaches in NHL...what a crock that line is, EH?? Pretty sure ALL the Stanley Cup winners would rate ahead of Lindy Ruff...for starters.
If ANY PLayer deserves a benching its "Drew A Blank" STafford!! Npt only is he scoreless he does nothing else ot help teh team and puts forth such little effort that youngster watchign teh game can see it....but he contiures otget ice time over hard working players year in and year out....Insanity Rules in Buffalo...are we sure it's not "Groundhog Day"??

Re: Hold steady
If there is a year to flunk, it would be this half season. The 2013 draft class is the best in years and could really help us out in the future. Jones, MacKinnon, Druin, Barkov, Monahan, Ristolainen, Polluck, Nichushkin. I'm just salivating at the thought of Buffalo getting one of these guys. Better get a high draft pick this year than get on a winning streak and still miss the playoffs. It's Stanley Cup or high draft pick, there is no middle tier for me this year.

Peca for coach
Boston 5 Buffalo 2!! Another feeble attempt to showcase Lyndy's system as a stale month old donut!! End the misery, you owe to the fans!! A fresh face,with new ideas and only then, just maybe,maybe the players will respond!! Peca for coach!!

Ville mystery
I saw Leino in the practice when he left the ice. Nothing looked wrong. He sat on the bench and whined. Trainer told Lindy and he left for the locker room. There's nothing wrong with him, he's simply collecting and sitting back.

Do Something
Move Grigorenko up with Stafford and Foligno. Do something to help Stafford.

@Lieno mystery
Please go find another forum for your mentally challenged conspiracy theories. You have made it abundantly clear that your frothing at the mouth, irrational hatred for Ruff and Regier has consumed any reasonable portion of your mind that narrowly escaped the years of alcohol abuse. Stick to your less insane equally uninformed opinions on here.

@another day...
PLEASE for the love of God find another team to complain about. You are one of those deluded individuals who believes part of hickey fandom is constant criticism and whining. NEVER again describe yourself as a "die-hard fan". That is an insult to the average fan. You die about as easily and softly as a mosquito. You are inherently soft. You have softened your brain through the abuse of alcohol. You also turn tail at the earliest sign of adversity. You whine and lament on here multiple times a day. You are the exact oppposite of a die-hard fan. YOU ARE A JJJJJJJOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKEEEEE!

Wow!!!
Lindy Ruff is garbage! Sulzer sitting again for some unknown reason while Leopold is still in there, not to mention that John Scott is on the bench while Kaleta plays yet again. I know people from Buffalo love the local kid but he is garbage too. He takes dumb penalties, gets hurt often and has no scoring touch, plus he doesn't even fight!! I don't know how he got a reputation as a tough guy because he is far from it. Get a clue Pegula and stop idolizing Lindy "the grinder" Ruff.

Some old system
Does anyone actaully understand that after 15 years there isn't a team in the league, no coach, no GM that doesn't completely have "the book" on The Sabres and Lindy's very tired systems. He's been doing the exact samething for years. There are no suprises. It's so easy to defend against. Everyone knows exactly what's coming!?
