Jets Edge Sabres 2-1

The Sabres are at home to face the Winnipeg Jets tonight.

Bryan Little opened the scoring, rifling a shot past Miller just one minute into the game. Three Sabres were caught behind the Buffalo net, leaving Little all alone to net his 3rd goal of the season. The Jets made it 2-0 early in the 2nd on Andrew Ladd's 5th, drawing a mix of boos and Bronx cheers from the First Niagara Center crowd.

Jason Pominville prevented what likely would have been a further chorus of boos just before the end of the 2nd period. With 22 seconds remaining, the Buffalo captain converted on a 3-on-1 chance by ripping a shot into the Winnipeg net.

Buffalo rattled off 11 shots on Ondrej Pavelec in the final period, but the Jets' netminder stood tall as his team hung on for the 2-1 victory. The Sabres will visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday. Hear the call on WGR 550 and the Buffalo Sabres Radio Network.
