Welcome to Sal's Tweet Stack

By Sal Capaccio

You’ve heard of Mailbags.  Well, mail was cool in the 1900s and email was soooo early 2000s.  So, it’s time to get into the year 2013 and do it the right way.  Welcome to Sal’s Tweet Stack.  These are real tweets to me from (I think, although you’ll see why I often wonder) real people.

In the first-ever installment of Sal’s Tweet Stack, the Bills draft, the fall of the Big East, and old school wrestling are some of the things on tweeters’ minds.  I respond.  In my own ways, of course………

Chetan – I love your first name.  It sounds very unique to me.  So I did some research.  Looks like there have been several very popular cricket players with the same first name.  As far as the Big East is concerned, the first – and biggest - domino of blame falls squarely on the conference itself for rejecting a TV deal from ESPN back in 2011 that would have reportedly been worth between $13-$15 million a year to each school!  The conference thought it could get a better deal from another TV partner.  When that didn’t happen, Syracuse (and Pitt and West Virginia then others) knew the only way they’d survive as relevant football and basketball schools was to move on.  Once they made that decision, the Big East essentially “collapsed.”  So, in the end, it was about the money.  It’s always about the money.

Dear Water (I’ll call you “Water,” because I certainly don’t think you’re cool enough to call you “cool”) – Capitalization and punctuation are your friends, even on Twitter.  I counted.  You still had 8 characters left to fix your tweet.  Now, normally I don't care about stuff like this, but I’ve received plenty of tweets from you before and they are generally childish and rude, so I can only assume you aren’t intelligent enough to know what to do here.  Therefore, allow me to give you some help:

Once you get it right, I’ll use some of my valuable time to respond.  Until then, good luck.

Sabrina - What?! Wrestling isn’t real?  I wish someone would have told me this sooner.  I spent 29 years of my life upset about this:

In any event, good for letting your Grammy enjoy the show the way she wanted.

You’re absolutely right, Brian.  This is a very interesting and unpredictable draft.  That said, and considering how “who-knows-what-they’re-going-to-do” the Bills have been in recent first rounds, let’s be honest.  The Bills may take any one of these guys (note: be sure to select “all” at the bottom right of the chart):

Otherwise, I love the trade-down option for the Bills in this draft.  There just doesn’t seem to be enough “can’t miss” prospects at the top this year.  So, why not slide down to a later spot in the round and pick up an extra pick or two?  Of course, it may be a lot harder to find a willing partner to do that this year.

And now a look at some of my new and, um, interesting followers:

I give you credit, Tom.  Most of us can’t admit we’re a degenerate gambler.  By the way, I’ll be in Vegas in 13 days.

Something’s weird here.  I know you were following me for a while, Rick.  So what happened?  Did you unfollow and re-follow?  Why?  I know it couldn’t have been due to my haircut or goatee. #Twins

Is this the same Bud Adams who flipped off the Bills? .....

You should be a little more confident in yourself, Michael.  It will help you in life.

Until the next Stack of Tweets, folks.

You can follow and tweet me on twitter:  @SalSports.  But just a heads-up, any follows or tweets may be used in a future Tweet Stack.

Considering this is a sports website
Maybe you should focus on sports instead of writing narcissistic articles, in your own style of course.

the guy above
The poster above needs to get a sense of humor. WGR needs more stuff like this. Doesn't hurt anyone. Maybe Sal can use this guys post in his next article.

Re: What?
There's consistent proof. Sal has written two hockey-related articles this year for this website: Grigorenko's contract decision should have nothing to do with his ELC; and Myers should pick a mindset. An average fan could have told you that, and completely debunked both in less than a sentence. No need to worry about Grigorenko financially, see: Ville Leino. And, the other one, tells us something we already all know: Tyler Myers is not a defensive defenseman. Hooray for worthwhile hockey content posted to this site! Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy Sal's radio show, and his comments on the Bills. But it is okay to just acknowledge the fact that he knows absolutely nothing about hockey and move on accordingly.

Hypocritical
Once you get it right, I’ll use some of my valuable time to respond. Until then, good luck. Enters 50 word rant that is time consuming.

Comment :
When assessing the Bills defense, what has been the biggest problem?
  It was mostly coaching
It was mostly a lack of talent
It was 50/50 coaching and talent
