Sabres Vanek still hurt, Miller back in

Buffalo, N Y (WGR 550)  -- The Sabres snuck out of Montreal with two points thanks to Jhonas Enroth and Steve Ott. Buffalo now has just two wins in eight games. Toronto is still in 6th in the East despite just one win in six games.

John Scott goes into the lineup for the injured Thomas Vanek. Andrej Sekera is still not ready to go.

Toronto has taken two of three games against the Sabres, but despite the great game in Montreal by Enroth, he goes back to the bench.

I had wondered if Ron Rolston had thought about keeping the hot hand in. He said, “We definitely think about it, but our thought process is to get Millsie back in there. We like what Jhonas is doing and how he’s building his game and building confidence and certainly has given us two big wins lately, but we wanted to get Millsie in there tonight.” Rolston added, “We had five games in a short span and we wanted to get Jhonas another start because he had played well and we want to make sure that his starts aren’t too far apart.”

The Sabres are still dead last in the NHL on the power play, but Buffalo has scored power play goals in two consecutive games.

Join Schopp and the Bulldog at 6:00 for the pregame as they’ll be joined by Ron Rolston, Drew Stafford and Ville Leino.
