(WGR 550) -- In the continued search to find a quarterback through the 2013 NFL Draft, at least one prominent member of the Buffalo Bills' front office was on hand in Los Angeles for a highly anticipated pro day. Bills Assistant General Manager Doug Whaley was spotted during coverage of Matt Barkley's pro day on the University of Southern California campus.
This was the first time that Barkley, a four-year starter at USC, had thrown publicly since injuring his shoulder late in the season. Since that time, Barkley has worked to regain the strength in his shoulder to help solidify his status as a potential first round pick.
The Bills will be holding a private workout with Barkley, as reported earlier by the Toronto Sun. When that workout takes place, he will be the fourth draft-eligible quarterback to have a private session with Buffalo. The team has already worked out West Virginia's Geno Smith, Florida State's E.J. Manuel and Oklahoma's Landry Jones.
The Bills hold the eighth overall pick in the annual selection meeting.
