After having planned to complete a visit to the New York Jets on Friday, the tight end thought better of it in the late stages of Thursday night, and elected to instead cancel the scheduled meeting. From there, ProFootballTalk.com had reported that Davis would be making his decision between the Redskins and Bills.
Davis returns to the Redskins, with whom he has spent his entire professional career in the National Football League. In five seasons, Davis had 155 receptions for 1,971 yards and 12 touchdowns.
According to John Keim of the Washington Examiner, the Bills offered a two-year contract to the tight end. Davis instead rejected that offer to return to his original team.
This was only the second unrestricted free agent the Bills have had in for a visit to public knowledge. Keep checking back for all the latest out of One Bills Drive on WGR Sports Radio 550 and WGR550.com.
