(WGR 550) -- Even the week of the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills are bringing in an unrestricted free agent for a visit. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills will be hosting former Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby at team facilities.
Dansby, 31, will be visiting with Buffalo both Monday and Tuesday. A veteran linebacker with experience in both major defensive systems was a potential need for the Bills when the new league year began in March. Dansby has been a starter all nine years he's been in the NFL.
If Dansby were to sign with Buffalo, he would likely be a direct competitor with third-year player Kelvin Sheppard at middle linebacker in 4-3 looks, and beside Nigel Bradham at inside linebacker when the Bills are in the 3-4.
In 2012, Dansby had more total tackles (134) and passes defended (9) than in any other single season he's been in the NFL. Dansby revealed to reporters that he played last season through a torn biceps injury. He was released by Miami in March to help make room for Dannell Ellerbe, and has only visited with the Cincinnati Bengals since.
