(WGR 550) -- With the deadline for teams to negotiate long-term contracts with the players they've designated with franchise tags, one report says the Buffalo Bills aren't close to coming to an agreement with franchised safety Jairus Byrd.
According to Tim Graham of The Buffalo News, a source tells him that there have been no contract talks scheduled between the Bills and his agent Eugene Parker, and that there are no plans to have those contract talks any time soon.
Byrd has yet to sign his franchise tag tender and has failed to show up for any off-season workouts. The deadline for teams to reach a long-term agreement with franchised players is July 15 at 4 pm. For a full look at the situation, click here.
