Buffalo Business Report - Monday, July 15th 2013

Local gas prices rose five cents this weekend to an average of $3.77 for a gallon of unleaded.  That is a six cent rise from the price a week ago.  

Iskalo Development wants to convert part of a building it owns at 337 Ellicott Street into a microbrewery.  Business First reports that request will come before the Buffalo Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday of next week.

Alpina Foods has bought 10 additional acres in the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park.  The company anticipates adding workers in the next few months to meet production demands.

Sabre defenseman Jordan Leopold's Waterford Estates home has sold for $770,000.  A nearby home owned by Jason Pominville is said to be under contract and is expected to close soon.

Kenmore Mercy Hospital was recently twice honored; receiving the Get With the Guidelines-Heart Failure Silver Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.  The hospital was the only one in the state named a recipient of the Association's Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll.
