Buffalo Business Report - Monday, July 29th 2013



Local gas prices are still up, but the rapid rate of rise has slowed.  The AAA pegs the current cost for a gallon of unleaded at $3.86.  That's up thirteen cents in the past month and is twenty-one cents higher than the cost here a year ago.

In local earning news: Moog Incorporated reported third quarter sales outpaced last year's numbers by 10%, at $671 million.  Net earnings per share were at seventy-five cents due to asset write-downs.  

Lower first quarter sales drove net income for Columbus McKinnon down 16.6% to thirty-five cents per share.

A new convenience store called Street Corner has opened at 136 North Division Street in Buffalo.  Entrance to the store is on Elm and Eagle.

Servotronics affiliate Ontario Knife Company of Franklinville is working on an incentive package to help with a $4.37 million plant expansion.
