Buffalo Business Report - Monday, August 5th 2013

According to the AAA, the current local average of $3.85 per gallon for unleaded gas is twenty-four cents more than the current national average price.

KeyCorp's sale of its investment management subsidiary and broker dealer affiliate to the employees of Victory and Crestview Partners has been finalized.  KeyCorp plans to repurchase common stock with the cash proceeds of the sale, expected to be between $75 and $90 million.

Business First reports Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Eli Lilly and Company have formed a partnership to train drug development investigators.  The program is intended to increase the number of minority investigators in clinical research.

Kinex Pharmaceuticals will be able to broaden its global drug program after reaching an agreement with a Hong Kong Commission.  No monetary details were released, but the agreement with the Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong opens up the Asian market to Kinex.

Compeer of Greater Buffalo recently received a $5,000 grant from The UPS Foundation.
