Buffalo Business Report - Tuesday, August 6th 2013

Famed for it's "no frills" approach, JetBlue will actually add a frill.  Beginning next year, the discount airline will add sixteen lie-flat seats to its New York to Los Angeles and New York to San Francisco routes.  It's seen as an effort to attract cross-country corporate sharks.

18 law firm mergers have been recorded in the second quarter of the year, bringing the 2013 total to 39 such mergers.  In 2008, there were a record 70 law firm mergers.

Buffalo's Del Monte Foods plant has received a SEED award, or Sustainability Excellence and Education award for waste reduction.  The 243 Urban Street facility manufactures Milk-Bone dog biscuits.

HSBC Holdings PLC reported profit before tax of $14.1 billion for the first half of this year, up 10.5% from the same period last year.
