Pittsford, NY (WGR550) -- After spending the entire 2012 regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Buffalo Bills tight end Mike Caussin was hoping 2013 would be a different story. Just a week into training camp though, Caussin suffered another injury and his fate with the franchise was sealed.
On Wednesday afternoon, the team officially announced they waived Caussin from the active roster, designating him as waived/injured. The 26-year old tight end appeared in six games in 2011, making two starts for the Bills.
He had five catches for 41 receiving yards before tearing his ACL near the end of the regular season. Caussin battled all year in 2012 to get back from the injury, and finally got to full health for the 2013 workouts.
The move now puts the Bills roster at 86, with five tight ends remaining (Scott Chandler, Lee Smith, Chris Gragg, Dorin Dickerson and Nick Provo). The Bills have until Thursday, August 27 at 4 pm to get their roster down to 75.
