Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, August 28th 2013

The sun will set on the Sonoma Grille on August 31st, but that's only on a temporary basis.  Business First reports the restaurant will shut down while Iskalo Development coordinates renovation work at the Lord Amherst Hotel and begins work on the Hyatt Place Hotel on the same property.  The Sonoma will open back up next year with a new name, look and menu.

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand worked to bring more than $5 million in funding to the NFTA.  Those funds will be used for sound insulation improvements at 187 homes bordering the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

A new synthetic turf field has been completed at Mulroy Park in South Buffalo.  The $1.2 million project was a collaborative effort between the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Legacy Project and community leaders.

Sonwil Distribution Center has officially received British Retail Consortium Global Standard Certification for Storage and Distribution.
