Bills cut 18 players, down to 55

(WGR 550) -- A little under 24 hours before the official cudown day, the Buffalo Bills have narrowed their roster down to the 53-man limit. The team announced they have released 18 players along with the three players placed on season-ending Injured Reserve.

Outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown, running back Zach Brown, cornerback Crezdon Butler, guard Antoine Caldwell, guard Zack Chibane, safety Jordan Dangerfield, tight end Dorin Dickerson, cornerback Kip Edwards, running back Kendall Gaskins, defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert, cornerback T.J. Heath, wide receiver Brandon Kaufman, quarterback Matt Leinart, linebacker Keith Pough, offensive tackle Zebrie Sanders, linebacker Brian Smith and center David Snow were all informed of their release by the team Friday.

The roster now stands as follows:

Running Back (3): C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson, Tashard Choice

Fullback (1): Frank Summers

Wide Receiver (6): Stevie Johnson, Robert Woods, T.J. Graham, Marquise Goodwin, Chris Hogan, Marcus Easley

Tight End (3): Scott Chandler, Lee Smith, Chris Gragg

Offensive Tackle (4): Cordy Glenn, Erik Pears, Thomas Welch, Sam Young

Guard (3): Kraig Urbik, Colin Brown, Doug Legursky

Center (1): Eric Wood

Defensive Line (8): Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, Alex Carrington, Alan Branch, Jay Ross, Corbin Bryant, Torell Troup, Izaan Cross

Rush Linebacker (3): Mario Williams, Jerry Hughes, Jamie Blatnick

Middle/Inside Linebacker (2): Kiko Alonso, Arthur Moats

Weakside/Inside Linebacker (3): Nigel Bradham, Bryan Scott, Jamaal Westerman

Strongside Linebacker (2): Manny Lawson, Marcus Dowtin

Cornerback (5): Stephon Gilmore, Leodis McKelvin, Ron Brooks, Nickell Robey, Justin Rogers

Free Safety (3): Jairus Byrd, Da'Norris Searcy, Duke Williams

Strong Safety (2): Aaron Williams, Jonathan Meeks

Special Teams (3): K Dustin Hopkins, P Shawn Powell, LS Garrison Sanborn

The Bills have Saturday off and will get back on the practice field Sunday at 4 pm.
