Bills' Stevie Johnson on Pats: "Nobody that can stop me"

Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550)  -- Everybody loves a little bulletin board material.

On the first Monday of the regular season, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson made a bold statement regarding the team's Week 1 opponents. When the Bills welcome in the New England Patriots to Ralph Wilson Stadium, Johnson believes his team has a chance at victory due to a certain factor among others.

"I feel like because I'm here," he said. "I don't think they've got nobody that can stop me, for real."

It's a claim that has already generated headlines and will likely be discussed between reporters and players of the Patriots' secondary. Broached on the subject of that very unit, Johnson was very diplomatic.

"They're athletic. I give a lot of credit to the New England Patriots," he remarked. "I haven't played against Aqib Talib yet. I checked him out on tape: long, athletic and tries to play with vision. They play as one unit. I've got a lot of respect for Chung, I know him. I know him personally. McCourty, he's been a Pro Bowl player, but I still think we can take advantage of their defense."

The one problem with his adoration for some players in the New England secondary is the fact that Chung no longer plays with the Patriots. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the off-season.

After the interview concluded Johnson was made aware of that fact and said he just didn't know because he had been reviewing the 2012 Patriots' tape, which had Chung as a part of their roster.

Desptie the slip-up, Johnson believes the Bills' offense can move the ball against whoever is lined up in front  of them.

"I think we've got guys in the receiver room that's as good as I am if not better. I've just got that confidence in my teammates and myself," Johnson added. "It's going to be a test, it's going to be a challenge but I'll still ride with my boys over their guys."

In six career starts against the Patriots, Johnson has 28 receptions for 367 yards and three touchdowns.
