Buffalo Business Report - Tuesday, September 3rd 2013

The AAA reports the current average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in Western New York is $3.87.  That's twenty-eight cents higher than the national average of $3.59.  There is normally closer to a twelve cent gap between the two prices.  One good bit of news - the current Buffalo average is seven cents lower than a year ago on this date.

Time Warner Cable and CBS have come to an agreement after a month-long dispute over fees.  The agreement ends a blackout of CBS and CBS-owned channels that included Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network and the Smithsonian channel.  Terms of the deal haven't been disclosed.  The agreement includes retransmission fees the cable operator pays to CBS per subscriber, which had been a sticking point.

Taylor Devices reported a 36.4% decline in fourth quarter profit, but for the year saw profit go up by 16%.  That profit in real numbers went from $2.19 million to $2.54 million over the period.
