Sabres Vanek is not thrilled to be on the right

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550)  -- Lindy Ruff always thought Thomas Vanek was sometimes better on the right wing. Vanek would disagree, but he found himself on the right side Thursday with Cody Hodgson and Marcus Foligno.
Vanek will play anywhere, but he doesn’t have to like it, “We’ll see. I guess I’m playing the right as of right now which is something new for me so I guess I’ve got to worry about myself right now.”
It is an adjustment and as far as if he cares Vanek said, “I have to be open to it. If I had a choice I’d rather play the left because it’s what I’ve always played, but at the same time you always have to adjust and do your best where you’re at.”
This is Ron Rolston’s first training camp so of course he’s going to try different things. Vanek said, “That’s exactly it, I mean it is training camp. Would I rather be on the left, sure, but it’s a long ways to go until we have to play games.
Rolston said he’s trying many in different spots and could flip flop Foligno and Vanek at any time.
Some other lines were:
Ott, Grigorenko, Leino
Ennis, Larsson, Stafford
Girgensons, Porter, Flynn
Tropp, McCormick, Kaleta
Ehrhoff, Myers
Tallinder, Pysyk
Weber, Ristolainen
Sulzer, Ruhwedel
McNabb, McBain
