The average cost for a gallon of gas in Western New York has dropped two cents to $3.85, but the gap with the national price continues to widen.  Local motorists are paying an average of thirty-one cents more per gallon than drivers across the country, according to the AAA.

The Genesee County Planning Board has recommended approval of permits, variances and a site plan for Yancey's Fancy's planned new building at Rtes 5 and 77 in Pembroke.  The Batavia Daily News reports the $20.7 million project would also include an upgrade of the cheese maker's current facility on Rte 5.

Gibraltar Industries has purchased assets from a Nevada company for a reported $5 million cash.
