Marcus Foligno's two goals helped lift the Buffalo Sabres over the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 Tuesday at Nationwide Arena. Mikhail Grigorenko also found the net for the Sabres, who improve to 2-0 in the preseason.
The first of Foligno's two goals came late in the opening period. The Sabres forward redirected a Tyler Myers pass into the Columbus net with just five seconds remaining in the first. Following a tying goal by R.J. Umberger in the second period, Foligno put Buffalo back in front with his second of the evening. Mikhail Grigorenko added his first of the preseason at 9:23 of the final period to make it 3-1. Corey Tropp found a wide-open Grigorenko, who beat Blue Jackets netminder Mike McKenna.
Ryan Miller saw 31:15 of ice time, stoppnig 15 of 16 shots. He was replaced by Matt Hackett in the second period, who turned aside all nine shots he faced.
