Honoring Damon Janes

While the Westfield/Brocton football team and the Brocton community mourn the death of junior running back Damon Janes, the Western New York high school football community will honor the 16 year old.

Janes died three days after being involved in a helmet to helmet collision during a game against Portville.

There will be a moment of silence before every game this weekend.

In addition, Section 6 President Jeffrey Rabey issued the following statement:

"On behalf of the entire Section VI of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, we offer our deepest condolences and support to the family, friends and classmates of Damon Janes, including the School-Communities of Brocton, Westfield and Portville.  Please know that you are in the hearts of the entire Western New York Athletic Community."

Westfield/Brocton’s game this weekend, as well as all athletic events at Brocton High School through Friday, have been cancelled.
