Sal's Friday Six-Pack (10/11)

Welcome to another edition of Sal’s Friday Six-Pack.  Why?  Because it’s Friday, which means you got through another week, and you deserve a six-pack.  Don’t drink beer? No problem.  Me, neither (well, very rarely, at least).  Crack open whatever it is you drink.

In this week's Six-Pack, as always, I'll start with some fantasy football tips for the weekend.  Also, NFL TV viewing, gambling movies, One Hit Wonders, and even some NBA talk:

Six Fantasy Football tips for NFL Week 6:
1.  Andrew Luck faces the 27th ranked Chargers pass defense this week.  San Diego has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to QBs.  Already this season, Matt Schaub, Michael Vick, Jake Locker, Tony Romo, and Terrelle Pryor have had good to excellent games against them.  Luck should be the next to do so.
2. Related to the above, the Chargers defense has only allowed two rushing touchdowns this season.  Colts RB Trent Richardson has failed to break 60 yards so far. Combine all that with knowing Luck will most likely throw a lot and it's not a good matchup for T-Rich.
3. Ravens WR Torrey Smith's last two games: 166 and 121 yards.  He gets targeted a ton each week and will continue to see footballs come his way.  This week, he plays the Packers defense which is 26th in passing yards a game, 27th in passing yards per play, and has already allowed 9 TD passes this season.
4. Bills WR Robert Woods has been the team's most targeted wideout the past three games.  Part of that is due to Stevie Johnson being banged up.  A lot of it is due to Woods' consistent route running. Johnson is still day-to-day with a back injury.  Whether Johnson plays or not, when the Bills have to throw the ball this week, expect Thaddeus Lewis to look for Woods as often as possible.

5. Rams rookie RB Zac Stacy ran for 78 yards in his first NFL start last week.  St. Louis has struggled to find a consistent running game, so look for him to continue to get the majority of touches.  And this week the Rams the 27th ranked Texans run defense.
6. Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon had 5 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown in his season debut last week.  This week, his team will most likely be playing from behind most (all) of the game against the Broncos, and Denver's defense has allowed the most yards passing this season (347 yards a game).  In fact, the Broncos have allowed over 20 yards more per game than the second-worst pass defense (Dallas, 326).

We haven't seen a lot of top college football teams get upset this season as often we have in recent years.  But I suspect that will happen soon now that conference schedules are all in full swing.
My Top Six college football teams right now:

1.     Oregon
2.     Alabama
3.     Stanford
4.     Clemson
5.     Ohio State
6.     Louisville

So the Bills/Bengals game will be seen on TV after all.  That's great news for Bills fans.
But here are My Top Six NFL games to watch on TV Sunday OTHER than Bengals at Bills:
1. Saints at Patriots
2. Packers at Ravens
3. Redskins at Cowboys
4. Titans at Seahawks
5. Steelers at Jets
6. Raiders at Chiefs

Thad Lewis has one NFL start so far.  He lost that game.  If he wins Sunday for the Bills, many will call him a "One Hit Wonder" even before he plays his next game.
My Top Six One Hit Wonders, the music version:
1. "Ice Ice Baby," by Vanilla Ice
2. "My Sharona," by The Knack
3. "Tainted Love," by Soft Cell
4. "Come on Eileen," by Dexys Midnight Runners
5. "Mickey," by Toni Basil
6. "Funkytown," by Lipps Inc.

Not a great schedule of college games this weekend, but some interesting matchups, and some rivalries.
My Top Six college football games this weekend:

1. Oregon at Washington (NCAA's 2nd vs. 5th ranked offenses. Don't blink, you might miss something)
2. Northwestern at Wisconsin
3. Florida at LSU
4. Texas A&M at Ole Miss
5. Oklahoma at Texas (The Red River Rivalry isn't what it used to be on the national stage)
6. South Carolina at Arkansas

Last week the movie "Runner Runner" was released.  It's about poker/gambling.  I like movies and I like gambling.
My Top Six Gambling-themed movies:
1. Rounders
2. "21"
3. The Hustler
4. The Color of Money
5. Ocean's 11
6. Maverick

NBA teams are playing preseason games.  The regular season opens October 29th.
My Top Six teams most likely to win the NBA Championship:
1. Miami Heat
2. Oklahoma City Thunder
3. Indiana Pacers
4. San Antonio Spurs
5. Houston Rockets
