Kaleta Suspended For 10 Games

The NHL handed a 10 game suspension to Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta on Tuesday following his hit to the head on Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson. Kaleta has already served two games of the suspension and will be able to return to the ice on November 2 against the Anaheim Ducks.

NHL Vice President of Player Safety, Brendan Shanhan, noted that the fact that Kaleta is a repeat offender factored into the decision to suspend him for 10 games. Kaleta, who was not penalized on the play, will forfeit $152,439 of his salary.
