Buffalo Business Report - Monday, October 21st 2013

The AAA reports local gas prices slid one penny this weekend.  The current average price per gallon of unleaded is $3.66.  That's forty-one cents less than the pump price a year ago.

Amherst's Planning Board and Industrial Development Agency both approved incentives for an expansion of Fidelis Care New York's facility in the CrossPointe Corporate Park.  Work on that addition could begin this fall.  It will eventually create 385 new jobs.

The historic Colden Mill Restaurant has reopened under new management.

First Niagara Financial Group's third quarter net income was up six cents a share, coming in at twenty cents per share.

The Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards is accepting nominations for recognition in three categories: small - under 50 employees, medium - 50-150 employees and large - over 150 employees.  Nominate a company today by following this link.  Those nominations are due by November 1st.
